Winter break ended and everyone had to come back to shool. We took a quick intro about the robotic's first game of the year since the season started.
Class is given with a choice of switching to google sites to work on their websites because it is less compilcated than the html and the codes. To use google sites,
you have to first log in to your google account and click on the apps icon and click sites once more. It is very simple to use, instead of putting pictures and urls
as a code using href, I can just add a content by uploading it directly from the file.
First Wednesday of this semester is to pair up with the partner that has been already decided by Dr. Neat. We have to cut out a perfect 1ftx1ft square with a
box cutter and a cardbox which was provided. The rule was that only one person who is assigned is allow to cut and that was my partner Krish. I drew the lines of the
squares on the cardboard using a 90 degree angled ruler and he cut out the edges that are unnecessary. At the end, we took a photo of the final project.

Mr. Miller taught us how to use the google drive to upload photos and files as a backups and have it uploaded on the goole sites.
Starting on this semester, instead of explaing through the process of the JPL challenge robotics will be sharing their process and the plans that is planned to do.
We finished a quick tutorial of using google sites. Then, we moved onto the style css which helps to design the websie with the foonts and backgrounds. There is site
called bootstrap that has css templetes that I can use to change to my own perference to code the website. Everyone must decide which path they would take to continue on
their website for the second semester between google sites and html.
Our Wednesday Challenge was to make a tool using materials given in a plastic bag which includes two rubberbands, two straws, two popsicle sticks, one pin, four paperclips, and four strings.
After the tool has been complete, time is measured from each team to score how long it takes to move the golf ball from one bag to the other.

The class was divided into two groups of people who are working on the google sites and people working on the html websites for the second semester.
We learned how to add a homepage that would link to files from semester 1 to organize messy files.
I finished the Wednesday challenge forms to complete the final update. We repeated the same steps that we went through
yesterday, organized folders of the website.
Dr. Neat graded the websites over the weekend. He showed out the websites that were interesting with unique designs. John, Jess and Derek's webistes were presented from the people
who worked on the google sites instead of html, Alvin and Sam's websites were presented from who worked on the html. We also went back to our first wednesday challenge of the week
which was making a square out of a cardboard, to learn how to correctly get a perfect square with a straight edge.
We have to make our own car that has a volume of 4"X8"X3". It has to travel down th ramp without falling off woth 4 wheels. The car has to be made from cardboard, wood
glue and straws. One week is given to work on this car project.
Groups of 3 or 4 people is formed to come up with an idea of something that relates to this year's theme which is steam works. It must be able to create 100s of it, done
by low cost and the number 589 somewhere. Our team designed a pin wheel that represents the gear in a simple way with 589 on the wheel. Each group present their own designs front
of the judges and explain the estimated cost and the time that would take.

Rest of the groups who did not present yesterday explaind their designs. Most designs have a shape of a gear which goes along with the theme of the year.
The idea that includes all the following contents and is creative will be chosen by the judges.
The judges presented the winners of this challenge. Teams who have won this challenge had the idea of a spinning toy. I finished cutting all the cardboard pieces of my car. I have to work
on the wheels of the car which I plan on to use circles. My car will have a rectangular prism
Dr. Neat showed the requirements needed for this week's website. I have three cardboard wheels and need one more to finish the car. I am going to try to make the straws move together
to make the car move down the heel.
The competiton can be on Friday or next week to test all the cars. I want the wheels of the car to be thicker so have four other wheels to put them together with the other four.
I will probably use thin cardboards to hold the straws and rotate to move.
